the orange economy and sports, infrastructure and cities with quality of life

With regard to the Social Security system -pensions and protection

With a total extension of 818 square kilometers, the municipality of Tuluá limits the east with the
municipality of Seville and the department of Tolima; to the west with the Cauca River and the
municipality of Riofrío. To the north with the municipalities of Andalusia and Bugalagrande and to
the south with the municipalities of Buga and San Pedro.
Its urban area is estimated at 11.11 square kilometers and has a great diversity of thermal floors
and heights that vary between 960 meters above sea level in the urban area and an average temperature
of 24 degrees Celsius up to 27 degrees C. It has heights that reach up to 4,400 meters above sea level,
where the páramos of Barragán and Santa Lucía are found.
Tulua has a great advantage since its strategic location makes Tuluá an important road junction, since
it is located in the central zone of the department, at a distance of 350 kilometers from Bogota, the
capital of the republic; At 102 kilometers from Santiago de Cali, the capital of our department; 228
kilometers from the port of Buenaventura and 24 kilometers from the city of Guadalajara de Buga,
the land of the Lord of Miracles.
Like the rest of the Valle del Cauca, Tuluá's agricultural activities depend on permanent crops,
especially sugarcane with 85% of the sown area.
Tuluá thus becomes a regional, commercial, industrial epicenter and an excellent service provider;
Its road and transport structure allows it to influence a large area of its environment.
Regarding the economy of the municipality, we can say that it is represented mainly by agriculture,
livestock, trade, the provision of services and the current momentum of the sector of health service
providers, which has seen a big rebound in the last five years. years and has allowed to position
Tuluá. Within the regional panorama and at the level of the Colombian Southwest, as a city that
provides high level health services.
In the same way, the medium industry occupies a prominent place in our economy, through which
there is a significant number of companies that generate a dynamic in our municipality, which also
allows the generation of employment and cash flow. In our city they turn it into a pole of development
that generates an economic dynamic.
As an agricultural center of the Valle del Cauca, the municipality of Tuluá has a variety of climates,
from 10 C in the cordilleran area where there is a large natural reserve such as Páramo of the beautiful,
up to 27 C and 28 C on the flat surface.
Due to the abundance of its waters, its efficient network of penetration routes and the fertility of the
land divided equally, since there are no large estates, Tuluá occupies a prominent place among the
42 municipalities of the department.
In the mountainous part or mountain range, it reaches heights of up to 4,000 meters above sea level,
as is the case of the corregimientos of Barragán and Santa Lucía, where wheat of the highest
quality is already produced in very little proportion, barley . , potato, onion and
strawberry, in addition to being recognized as a dairy reserve of great projection by the
number of farmers that there are.
In the average climate there is coffee, corn, beans, vegetables and all kinds of fruits, such as blackberry,
passion tree and flat tomato, sugar cane, corn,
cocoa, banana, rice, tobacco, cotton, soy,
millet, etc. Sesame and a wide variety of grasses.
The activities of commercial representation are coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce of Tuluá,
with its receiving headquarters for more than twenty years in the municipality of Zarzal and a wide
area of coverage represented by the municipalities of Andalucía, Riofrío, Trujillo, Bugalagrande,
Bolívar, Zarzal and of course Tuluá, contact with important and impacting companies in the national
and international scope, including the Sancarlos, Carmelita and Riopaila sugar mills, as well as
important companies such as Nestlé de Colombia, Colombina, Levapan, Eggs Gold, Warehouses
